Rant

In my opinion... the only reason people blog is because they are over opinionated d**chebags that no one wants to listen to in person so they come and write it online as a public journal. but the thing is no one cares. they write online thinking people are reading but thats the great thing about blogging. you don't know if people are "listening" or not. The truth of the matter is if people don't want to listen to you in person then they dont want to read your opinion online. if you have something important to say then get out there and mae yourself heard IN person by saying something interseting. Don't hide behind a keyboard and try and tell people what you think because sometimes people just blog to rant and get what they are thinking down and written somewhere but they are usually just venting about what pisses them off. well we do not need that negative stuff out there for everyone to see. So if you really want to say something either go say it to people in person or write it down in a journal the old fashioned way. Put your pen to paper and then tuck it in a drawer when you are done. Lets be serious, these blogs have become so popular because they make peoploe think they are important because someone is listening to them but really, no ones listening. especially the ones that become really popular and get a lot of views, most of the time the only reason they become extremely popular is because it is genuinely good and makes a great point but the majority of the time its just because they are making a fool of themselves and people send it around to all of their friends so they can make fun of it. To make a great point instead of sitting there and writing all day on something that probably wont even be looked at by another human being go interact with people. Make some friends and get out of your parents basement. if you feel you have a point to make and that it is going to make a difference try going online and searching it up first. I promise someone else has written about it before you. Hell, your going to find thousands if not millions of the same blogs over and over written by different people in different words and moods to the writing but they all come to make the same point. So what makes yours so special? What is going to make yours so significant that people are going to want to read it over someone elses? Nothing. The person to write it is going to think it is special because they are the one that wrote it. but like i said there are thousands of the exact same thing already out there. If your point is so great and important then get the address for the local newspaper editor and send your article in. or write a script and send it to a director. But if you do not think that your point is that great then do what i mentioned earlier and write it in your own personal journal and tuck it away after.

House MD

This TV show is about a self centred, narcissistic, crippled doctor who has only one friend but has to work with a team to diagnose patients. He works with a team but he is the employer so he takes it upon himself to make everyone Else's life miserable because he cannot be happy. Dr. Greg House is the best though, he is irreplaceable so he can basically do whatever he wants. He manages to figure out what is wrong and only actually meets the patient if it is completely necessary otherwise he will not even go near them. When a patient is sick and no one else can figure out the problem they come to him and his team of 4. The show consist of mysteries but there is comedy tied in to keep you interested. Along with the comedy though there is definitely some drama in the show as well, whether it is between the different doctors fighting with each other or just because of a suffering patient. All in all the show is great for people interested in all genres because there is a little bit of everything in House.

Perception is everything

The theme of this presentation is to show how the way people see every single thing in the world has been influenced in some way. for example media has influenced the minds of millions so when they see certain things they will link it to others. depending on how an image is shown it can be interpreted in many different ways. this is shown when the exact same image is shown just reversed but the colours above them are the only things different but it changes how the picture looks completely. People of media know exactly how the brain works and they take advantage of this. in the end of the video when the colour filter is put in front of the yellow and purple light while in a controlled black background the filter changes the colour of the light so that it looks the exact same. but when the black is taken away and you see the big picture the two shades of yellow look slightly different even though we know they are the exact same, the mind still interprets them as different. there are people who know these secrets and they will take advantage of it in order to sell their product or just catch your attention. Even though this seems like a minor thing there is much more to it then just seeing the exact same colour differently!

“If you don’t risk anything, you risk more”

what the above quote means to me is that by not risking something in order to achieve a goal you risk a lot more because you didn't try. If you try something and fail it is ok because atleast you tried. people who do not try, fail 100% of the time because they didnt even go for what they wanted. As long as you try there is a possibility of achieving your goals so you take a risk and go for it. If you have a goal and do not risk anything, risk the time or put in effort, then you are going to fail for sure and no achieve your goal. In doing this you risk more because if you goal were to take you to a new level of success then by not trying you are throwing it all away. If you had tried and succeeded then you would gain much more and you would have risked little to gain a lot. if you fear risking little to gain a lot then you will go nowhere in life. the majority of people if they knew that they could get something they wanted guaranteed, they would go for it. If they were only given a 10% chance of getting it then most people would now think oh its only 10% there is no point in trying. By not trying they have forfeited their reward therefore they have risked more by no trying then they would have by giving it a go. Those few poeple who did take the risk and try it out even though there was only a 10% chance of getting it, these are the kind of people in our world today who are the most successful. event hough there was a small chance of success they gave it a shot anyway and took a risk but most likely gained much more by taking this risk then they would have lost by not taking the risk!

21st century education

In my personal opinion the most important skills you are going to need after high school are social skills. If you can talk to people for more then 20  minutes without there being long awkward pauses and without getting bored talking to different kinds of people then you can work in almost any profession. Any feild of work you can think of requires communication. whether you are talking to an employer, employee or a client in any feild of work you have to be able to make conversation flow or an employer isnt going to like you. as long as the position pays good if you are the boss the employee might not mind to much but if you were runnning your own business would you want to pay more to get people to work for you? Probably not, when you could most likely have better people working for you at the same pay or less if you had proper communication skills. And if you are trying to get an important client to buy something from you or pay you for your services if you cannot persuade them that you are the best out there or if you cannot hold up a smoothly flowing conversation with them they are not going to pay for anything. I believe that the majority of people do improve these skills during high school. If you do not have people to talk to and sit alone in class and during lunch hours then the chances of you making it through high school with no regrets are slim to none. the majrity of students although they operate in their little cliques do manage to develop great social and communication skills. The students who are best at these tend to be the kids who do party even though these students are usually stereo typed as the slackers even the majority of the people going out and partying are not. Most of them are actually good students who just like to see friends in a calm atmosphere and have a good time and they do it to blow off steam which is better then bottling it all up and possibly causing harm to someone else or yourself.
The perfect english class would be one where you have the choice to work on every assignment either on your own or as a gorup effort. everyone is different and some people work great by themselves but others excel when they are placed in groups especially if they have the choice of who is in their group this way they can pick the people they know they get along with and can work with them. This would increase productivity and students and teachers would probably appreciate this because they can cover more in the little time they have. for the kids that like to work by themselves great they have the choice to do that and they will not be forced to do assignments with people they do not know. and for those who struggle sometimes they might want to work ina group and get other peoples input on what they are doing which most of the time i better. Personally i find it easier to learn from my peers then the teachers. students kind of speak their own language and they understand eachother where as a lot of teachers are very text book and explain things in a one solution type of way. working with students together though you can come up with several different "right" ways to do something. Since there are different ways of doing it too then each person in the group can pick the way they are most comfortable with and use that method for other problems yet to come.
For next years my plans are to travel across europe take a break and meet new people have some great experiences hopefully then i will come back, most likey going to victoria and working there to save up for the year following then going to school. I still havent decided but my plans are either going into medicine or law. Both of which are feild of work which require Great communication skills
